According to Master Class champ and Moore N’ Moore instructor, Josey Martin, today’s targets were certified by her as CharminSoft. She actually set the menus for both events, so, if you enjoyed the targets, please share your positive thoughts with Josey and myself. Any not-so-positive thoughts can be sent to Josey’s mom or grandma where they would just love to hear your feedback.
Believe it or not, we heard rave reviews across the board today. But then how could anyone grumble when the scores were good, the skies were blue, winds were calm, the raffles were fun, and the food was perfectly suited for a late October day?
Today’s event had 69 Shooters in attendance. We think that’s a very nice turnout and we’re looking forward to seeing you all at the MULLIGUN MEGA DRAWING, next month on November 24. We hope everyone got their tickets in the ticket bin.
Chicken and Raffles
The D’s created a tasty lunch of chicken or pork loin for the main dish, cowboy beans and cole slaw were the sides. It was very rib-stickin’ and the dinner plates were empty by 1 PM. Thank you ladies for another great lunch. Week after week… I don’t know how you guys do it.
The new raffles were well received. Now I have to give credit where credit is due… our family and friends down at Redlands Shooting Park inspired this idea and it seemed like everyone enjoyed it today. In case you didn’t know, we had 3 FREE raffles. One raffle was for a free membership to MNM, a second was for a $50 gift card to MNM, and the last was for 200 Practice Targets. How did you get tickets? The number of tickets you received were based on how many targets you hit at station 1. If you hit 3 targets, you got 3 tickets. You could place those tickets into any of these 3 raffles or stick all your tickets into one jar. We even threw in a 50/50 raffle for fun. Congratulations to Rick Kagawa for taking home $45 on the 50/50. Not bad for a guy that never wins raffles.
Here are the winners of the free raffles:
1. Kelley Erisman – $50 Gift Card.
2. Jim Wathen – 200 Practice Targets.
3. Carl Wesely – Free Basic Membership for 1 year.
Carl Wesely was already an MNM member, and being the classy guy that he is, he will be giving his membership to a friend that he’s trying to introduce into Sporting Clays. Good luck, Carl and thank you!
The Blind Squirrel
This new option was the big hit of the event. 40 people played this option which equated to $400 up for grabs! Our computer picked a random number between 40 and 100. If your main event score was the same as the random number (or you were closest), you won the pot. The random score was 70 and we had two of them among the Blind Squirrel players. Congratulations to Chris Gothro and Kelley Erisman, both of which took home $200.
With an overwhelming response and request, we’re going to slightly modify this new option. Here goes – You must hit the random number exactly, now. If nobody hits the random number, the money will carry over to the next month. I have a feeling the pots might get out of control and that’s what we’re aiming for! If you like this change, leave us a comment below, if you don’t…shhh. :)
You’ll start seeing this at the Silver Series as well. Great fun!
